What is a Multisexual Identity?
Multisexuality refers to sexual identities that include romantic and/or sexual attractions to more than one sex or gender. This is compared to monosexual identities such as gay, lesbian, and straight, which include romantic and/or sexual attractions to one sex and/or gender. (Trevor Project)
Why are multisexual identities erased?
Identities such as bisexuality and pansexuality tend to be misunderstood and excluded from not only spaces outside of the LGBTQ+ community but also on the inside. This helps feed the narrative that everyone must only like one gender, whether they be gay or straight, no in between.
